Islamic Relief’s USA office is sending clothes to survivors of the recent floods in Colombia, in partnership with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The shipment, valued at over $750,000 will be distributed to Colombians who have survived the heaviest rains to hit the South American country since records began.
An estimated 2 million people have been affected, and over 280 people have been killed. The rains and landslides which have been ongoing since March have damaged of 65% of the 1,102 municipalities in the country, including over 650,000 hectares of agricultural land.
Over 300,000 homes have been damaged, with almost 3,000 completely destroyed.
